Robert Lossy is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Water Tanzania (SWT), bringing over 20 years of extensive experience in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), project management, and sustainable water resource management. His leadership has been instrumental in implementing innovative engineering solutions, fostering community engagement, and driving impactful collaborations with government agencies and development partners.
My expirience
May 2023 – Dec 2024: Technical Director – Savvy Engineering Investment
- Responsibilities: Ensuring project alignment to standards, provide guidance in methodologies and advising all technical aspects of project implementation.
- Achievement: Supervised implementation of water projects in Kidyama and Mkongoro, in Kigoma region, benefiting more than 30,000 people.
Jan 2021 – Mar 2023: Regional Manager - Water Mission Tanzania
- Responsibilities: Leading large-scale water projects, manages multi-disciplinary teams, and ensured adherence to organizational standards.
- Achievement: Led water need assessment in more 20 communities in western Tanzania and successful implemented water projects benefiting more than 150,000 people in host communities and 140,000 people in refugee camps.
Mar 2018 – Dec 2020: Lead Engineer - Water Mission Tanzania
- Responsibilities: Overseeing technical project implementation, quality control, and infrastructure planning.
- Achievement: Leads large-scale water projects, manages multi-disciplinary teams, and ensured adherence to organizational standards.
Jul 2013 – Feb 2018: Planning & Construction Engineer, Mbeya Water Supply and Sanitation Authority
- Responsibilities: Overseeing technical project implementation, quality control, and infrastructure planning.
- Achievement: Successful maintenance of utility water infrastructure, expansion of water network to uncovered areas in the service area and managed new implemented projects.
Aug 2005 – Jun 2013: Site Supervisor and Project Engineer Roles
- Responsibilities: Led construction supervision, site assessments, and technical designs in large-scale infrastructure projects.
